The First Hand Foundation, our programs and events would not be the same without the support and generosity of volunteers—the value of their service is immeasurable. Below are a few ways you can be involved.
Love Bag Program
The Love Bag program is largely dependent upon community volunteers. You can organize a collection drive, assemble the bags, or sew items such as blankets to include in the bags. Contact the Love Bag program manager for more information.
First Hand Court
The First Hand Court is a group of Kansas City’s young business-minded, philanthropically-driven professionals. Some Court members work at Cerner and others do not. Court members work together throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for the annual Masquerade Ball. They help secure donation items, sponsorships and ticket sales in order to meet a fundraising goal. They also help promote First Hand’s mission throughout Kansas City.
Do you know our next Court MVP? Maybe a friend, family member, or co-worker of yours would be a wonderful addition to the First Hand family – tell them to apply HERE! Applications are due at 5:00 pm on Monday, April 1st! Contact the Events Manager for more information.
Individual Fundraising Events
Whether you organize a poker night, bake sale, garage sale or sports tournament, you can donate the proceeds to First Hand. Any activity with your friends, family, school or church can be a fundraiser. Get creative! We welcome kids helping kids, too.
Contact the Volunteer program manager for more information.
